Locations

So, now that we're engaged it seems like there is so much to do. We've talked about possibly having a wedding in December and all these magazines and websites say that you are suppose to have the venue booked about a year in advance. Crazy! So, I've been searching everywhere trying to find a place that Justin and I both like and fits what we are looking for. Not an easy thing to do. Everything seems to be so expensive. It's ridiculous. Well...just thought I'd vent my frustrations a little. If anyone has any ideas regarding locations I am all ears!

  1. Yep, everything is super expensive. We were on the teeniest tiniest budget ever, so that is why we used the backyard.

Are you looking for a reception site or ceremony, or both? If you get married in a church that saves money. The Bowers Museum is one place I've been where I've seen a beautiful reception going on: http://www.bowers.org/visit/host.jsp

The Nixon library might be nice if you are looking for something closer to Riverside. http://www.nixonlibraryevents.com/event_services.html

I'll let you know if I think of any others - good luck!

  2. I was just reading a friends blog (she is a photographer), and she mentioned the OC Sailing and Events Center. Check it out at http://ocsail.com/rentals.htm.

You can also see pictures of a Christmas wedding she took there at http://www.erintphotography.blogspot.com/

Can you tell I'm going to have fun helping my girls plan their weddings one day? I almost can't wait :)

  3. Thanks for the ideas. I'll definitely check them out. I can use all the help I can get. I would like to have the ceremony and the reception in the same location. That way guests don't have to wait hours or travel somewhere else. Thanks for the help. If you think of anything else please let me know :-)
